So, it's now a week after Thanksgiving and I'm definitely a pound or two (or 10) heavier than I was before the holiday, but it was worth it! All that turkey and potatoes and desserts – who could resist? Everyone has to splurge every once in a while and enjoy themselves. At least, that’s my rationalization.
So, what's new this week that we can talk about? Oh yeah, the highest paid sports icon is cheating on his HOT wife with multiple women. Go figure. Is it really that big of a deal? Seems as though some guys are just not meant to be with only one woman, and by some guys I mean every guy because that's just how nature intended things. Honestly, how can the first athlete to earn a billion freakin' dollars be expected to not seek out some strange from time to time? I feel like the media is eating him alive and blowing it out of proportion. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like what he did or believe in cheating, but this type of stuff happens every day to less high-profile people and yet we feel we can pass judgment on Tiger Woods, the greatest golfer of all time. I'm sure each and every one of those reporters have more than a few skeletons in their closets. You don't make anchor without stroking a few long ones (that works on so many levels).
So... Modern Warfare 2. The game has been out almost a month and it seems as though it will never be ready for competition. From what I understand, the coders at Activision are not cooperating with certain league organizers and thus will not be creating the modifications necessary for competitive play. I can honestly say that CoD4 will be the game to play for the next year or so. I don’t think it will be nearly as popular as it was when it first came out and we will lose some players/teams to other games that are supported, like AVA and Quake, but that's the hand we've been dealt. Either way, CEVO has announced a new tourney for CoD4 where the top two teams will get high-end computer cases, which seems reasonable for a $25/team entry fee. Will x3o have a team crashing this shindig? That is the question of the day!
